Stephen J. Marshall

     Stephen J. Marshall, 72, of Marietta, Ohio (formerly of the Marr Community) passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the O’Bleness Hospital, Athens, Ohio.

     He was born in Marietta, Ohio on September 3, 1946 a son of the late Paul and Bernice Winland Marshall.

     Steve was a 1964 graduate of the Stafford High School, Stafford, Ohio; a graduate of the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio; and a graduate of UEI, Akron, Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Steve was also a former employee of Texas Instruments and a retired environmental specialist for the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 10, Marietta, Ohio. 

     Steve enjoyed spending time with family, going out to eat, playing with his dogs, and mowing the yard.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Melody Moore and a niece Jamie Gehrig.

     Surviving are his fiancé Melissa Males of Marietta, Ohio; three brothers, Greg (Catherine) Marshall of Graysville, Ohio, Mike (Julie) Marshall of Graysville, Ohio, Kevin (Rhonda) Marshall of Lewisville, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Eugene Moore of Jerusalem, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; his fiancé’s brothers, Mitch (Carrie) Males of Loveland, Ohio and Jeff Males of Bartlett, Ohio.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 with Charlie Hercher officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville, Ohio.

     Memorial contribution may be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, 90 Mt. Tom Road, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
