Geneva Ruth Briggs, 69, of 515 East Marietta Street, Woodsfield, Ohio died Friday, February 9, 2007 at her home.
She was born at Piney Fork, Ohio on June 22, 1937 a daughter of the late Monroe Gillis and Margaret Nora West Peck.
Geneva was a retired cashier with 20 years of service at the former Woodsfield I.G.A. and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Woodsfield, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Martin and four brothers, Robert, Bill, Ted and Eugene Peck.
Surviving are three daughters: Patricia L. Goding of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Janet S. Rinkes of Bethesda, Ohio and Kimberly A. (Donald) Schilling of Clarington, Ohio; two sons: Charles E. (Wanda) Briggs, Jr. of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania and John K. (Robin) Briggs of Mentone, Indiana; five sisters: Jeanette Willis of West Liberty, Kentucky, Nora Nichols of Hannibal, Ohio, Betty Jane McVay of Powhatan Point, Ohio, Mary Lou Deaton of Dayton, Ohio and Naomi Jacklyn of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers: John Peck of Monroe, Michigan and Paul Douglas Peck of Dallas, Texas; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2007 where funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Anthony McSwords officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
