          Fred H. Wittenbrook, 93, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home.

          He was born near Woodsfield, Ohio on March 26, 1924 a son of the late James and Edna Neuhardt Wittenbrook.

          Fred was a 1942 graduate of Woodsfield High School, Woodsfield, Ohio. He was a retired timekeeper for the Ohio Department of Transportation in Monroe County, Ohio; a former owner of the Lewisville Hardware Store, Lewisville, Ohio and a former electrician.  Fred was also a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio; a member of Monroe Lodge #189, F. & A.M., Woodsfield, Ohio; a former member of the Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite; a member of the Aladdin Shrine Temple, Columbus, Ohio; a member of the Monroe Shrine Club; the New Matamoras Shrine Club, and a charter member of the Lewisville Volunteer Fire Department, Lewisville, Ohio.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Wittenbrook; four sisters, Mary Jane Wittenbrook, Eleanor Richardson, Alvira Hamilton, and Dorothy Pierce; three brothers, James Wittenbrook Jr., Robert Wittenbrook, and Eugene Wittenbrook; and a granddaughter, Sheena Wittenbrook.

          Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Archer Wittenbrook whom he married on July 5, 1953; one daughter, Susan (Rich) Ferguson of Woodsfield, Ohio; one son, Neal Wittenbrook of Jerusalem, Ohio; two grandchildren Nathan and Maranda Wittenbrook.

          There will be no public visitation. Masonic services will be held November 20, 2017, Monday evening at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio. Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville, Ohio.

          Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 303 South Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio or the Lewisville Volunteer Fire Dept., 33393 Firehouse Rd., Lewisville, Ohio 43754.

Betty, Susan and Neil, We are so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. Our families have grown up together and so many wonderful memories we have had. I am sure Mom and Dad are waiting with open arms and a deck of cards for another round! He will be greatly missed. Love to you all.
