          Lewis G. McConnell, 84, of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at the same home he was born and raised.

          He was born near Stafford, Ohio on September 1, 1933 a son of the late William Floyd McConnell and Ollie Mae Gildow McConnell.

          Lewis was a retired farmer and laborer. He was also a former Franklin Township Trustee with 20 years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

          Lewis enjoyed spending time with his family, farming with his draft horses, and square dancing.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Clayton McConnell and Charles McConnell.

          Surviving are his wife of 60 ½ years, Ruth E. Fleeman McConnell; one daughter, Donna (Danny) Weddle of Lewisville, Ohio; two sons, Rex (Linda) McConnell of Lower Salem, Ohio, Phil (Misty) McConnell of Lewisville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one on the way.

          Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 where military and funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 with Rev. Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford, Ohio.
