Albert F. Hupp, 100, of Summerfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his home.
He was born near Caldwell, Ohio on July 29, 1918 a son of the late Albert John Hupp and O'Tillia Nau Hupp.
Albert was a retired dairy farmer and was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Belle Valley, Ohio. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II where he was a P.O.W. and also received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0641, Belle Valley, Ohio; a member of the V.F.W. Post 4721, Caldwell, Ohio and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Albert enjoyed farming and most especially playing cards in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Irene Archer Hupp on October 25, 2012; two sons, Ricky and William “Billy” Hupp; an infant brother; two brothers, Howard and Edward Hupp; three sisters, Mary Hill, Thelma Johnson and Luella Crum.
Surviving are four daughters, Janie (Billie) Harris of Columbus, Ohio, Josephine (Richard) Knight of Columbus, Ohio, Julia (Ronald) Saling of Caldwell, Ohio, Diane (Gary) Cox of Columbus, Ohio; five sons, Robert (Anna) Hupp of Belle Valley, Ohio, Phil Hupp of the home, James (Theresa) Hupp of Carlisle, Ohio, John (Cheryl) Hupp of Sarahsville, Ohio, Joe (Davina) Hupp of Summerfield, Ohio, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Hupp of Summerfield, Ohio; three sisters, Agatha Schafer of Senecaville, Ohio, Leoba (Paul) Archer of Woodsfield, Ohio, Rose (Ronnie) Schell of Caldwell, Ohio; two brothers, Art (Grace) Hupp of Caldwell, Ohio, Norbert “Bill” (Janice) Hupp of Caldwell, Ohio; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 221 Main Street, Belle Valley, Ohio from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Belle Valley, Ohio with Fr. Wayne Morris as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Belle Valley, Ohio with full military graveside services.
Vigil services followed by the Knights of Columbus will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
