Charles E. “Chuck” Truax, 91, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born near Woodsfield, Ohio on May 14, 1928 a son of the late Cletis and Mary Bohnam Truax.
He was a former delivery man for the former Woodsfield Ice & Creamery; a former employee for the Monroe County Department of Engineers; former car salesman at the former Rice Chevrolet, Woodsfield, Ohio; and former owner of Truax Excavating, Woodsfield, Ohio. He was also a member of the Woodsfield Church of the Nazarene, Woodsfield, Ohio.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Denbow Truax; one son, Monte Truax; five brothers, Durel “Bus”, Paul, Clyde, Junior and Bob Truax; three sisters, Esther Wahl, Doris Keylor, and Judy Parden.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy (William) Bright of St. Augustine, Florida, Jeannie (Doug) Yontz of Woodsfield, Ohio; two sisters, Jean Rueschman of Louisville, Ohio, Shirley Pfalzgraf of Lewisville, Ohio; several grandchildren, including Carley Yontz, Tony and Tracy Truax, Ben and Brian Bright ; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio, Friday, August 30, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Hise officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
