Daniel W. Jacobs

Daniel W. Jacobs, 90, of 40281 State Route 26, Woodsfield, Ohio died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.


He was born at Clarksburg, West Virginia on March 10, 1917 a son of the late John J. and Teresa Bonnert Jacobs.


He was a retired electrician for Consolidated Aluminum, Hannibal, Ohio and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union Local 972. He was a Baptist by faith and had attended the Graysville United Methodist Church, Graysville, Ohio. He was also a 60 year member of the American Union Lodge #1 F.&A.M., Marietta, Ohio where he served as a past master and was an honorary member of the Stafford Lodge #300 F.&A.M., Stafford, Ohio. He was also a HAM Radio Operator and was a member of the Monroe County Communicators.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, P.I. McCowan; a sister, Lucy Sonnenan and a great grandson, Maxwell Richard Niemeyer.


Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Marjorie Warren Jacobs whom he married on July 16, 1939; one daughter: Deborah (Edward) Bever of Westerville, Ohio; two sons: Daniel David Jacobs of Covina, California and Donald Lee (Sharon) Jacobs of Lancaster, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Bever Niemeyer, Grant Bever, Nathan Bever, Megan Bever Lafferty, Noah Jacobs, Charity Jacobs, Jillian Jacobs, David Jacobs and Sarah Jacobs; six great grandchildren.


Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Oho from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.


Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
