Dwight George Ring

     Dwight George Ring, 80, of Graysville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Monroe County near Graysville, Ohio on December 18, 1938 to the late Clifford and Opal (Williams) Ring.

     On May 31, 1958 he married Wilma Darlene (Morris) and she survives. He is survived by five children, Mitchell & (Cathy) Ring of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and Joyce (Tom) Glaser of Westerville, Ohio, Michael (Chris) Ring of Findlay, Ohio, Michelle (Ross) Hartley of Gahanna, Ohio and Rhonda (Brian) Leaf of Sunbury, Ohio. A brother, Larry Ring of Wytheville, Virginia. Grandchildren, Mitchell and Amanda (Ring) Lavery, Jeremy & Jesse Harshe and Lindsy Harshe (Buser), Coty Glaser and Ciera Glaser, Megan (Ring) Haas, Cole and Dalton Ring, Elizabeth Ring, Austin and Levi Hartley, Mikayla and Hannah Leaf and 15 great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Sue (Ring) Harshe and a great grandson, Lincoln Allen Hartley, two sisters Maxine (Ring) Piatt and Wanda (Ring) Devore, and a twin brother Duane (Ring).

     Dwight retired on January 1, 1994 from Columbia Gas of Findlay Ohio after 36 years of service. Following retirement, he started a part time trucking and back hoe business in Monroe County, Ohio, (Ring Digging and Hauling).

     He was an alumnus of Graysville High School class of 1956. Dwight served as a member and trustee of the Graysville and community VFD, for over 20 years. He was a member of the Graysville United Methodist Church where he played the piano for worship.

    Dwight was a great friend to everyone and never met a stranger. Wherever he encountered people he always took the time to talk with them and make them feel special. Dwight loved fishing, hunting and being with his family. He also, enjoyed travel with his loving wife Wilma.

       Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019.

     Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville, Ohio.
