Otto G. Burkhart Jr., 77, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born at Canton, Ohio on December 22, 1942 a son of the late Otto George Burkhart Sr. and Murl Starr Burkhart.
He was the former owner of Cardinal Well Service and former owner of Burkhart Excavating, Woodsfield, Ohio. He was also a retired farmer and a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation, Hannibal, Ohio.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, Ohio; a member of the N.R.A. and the Monroe County Farm Bureau.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Carol Hunter, Doris Headley and Patty Sharrock.
Surviving are his wife, Luella Mayberry Burkhart whom he married on January 5, 1963; two daughters, Tammy (Randy) Graham of Lewisville, Ohio, Kelly (Jeffrey) VanDyne of Beallsville, Ohio; two sons, Terry (Etta) Burkhart of Jerusalem, Ohio, Daniel (Odeta) Burkhart of Woodsfield, Ohio; two sisters, Kay Robb of Barnesville, Ohio, Charlotte Morris of Colorado; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, Ohio with Fr. Tim Davison as the celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Miltonsburg, Ohio.
Vigil services will be held at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
