Anna “Banana” Marie Brooks Hinderlong, 95, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Stellar Care Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born near Lewisville, Ohio on October 16, 1926 a daughter of the late Charles and Jessie Davis Garrett.
Anna was a retired cook for the Switzerland of Ohio School District. She was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio where she was a member of the Catholic Womens Club and the St. Francis Society. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Post 5303, Woodsfield, Ohio.
She enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Brooks; her second husband, Paul Hinderlong; a daughter Monica Long; two brothers, Wayne and Fred Garrett; four sisters, Eleanor Stegner, Letha Landefeld, Kathryn Moore and Helen Bullock.
Surviving are two daughters, Jo Ann (Dwight) Brannon of Woodsfield, Ohio; Becky (Carey) Bott of Woodsfield, Ohio; one son, Charlie (Kay) Brooks of Woodsfield, Ohio; a son-in-law,Bill Long of Woodsfield,Ohio: seven grandchildren, Lori (Andy) Ring; Doug Brannon; Corey (Jamie) Bott; Casey (Natalie) Bott; Joe Long; Amy (Brian) Griffin; J.C. Brooks. Eleven great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and two on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. Sylvester Catholic Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio with Fr. Timothy Davison officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Sylvester Catholic School, 119 Wayne Street, Woodsfield,Ohio 43793
