Barbara Sue Clegg

Barbara Sue Clegg, 73, of Sardis, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born at New Martinsville, West Virginia on November 4, 1948 a daughter of the late Clarence and Claudia Henderson Gray.

After Barbara graduated high school, she was proud to work for the F.B.I. She was a former insurance agent for Peoples Life Insurance Company and was a member of the Sardis Church of Christ, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 760, Hannibal, Ohio. She was also a proud donor of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Center.

She enjoyed playing scrabble, playing with her grandkids, loved going to the beach and feeding the wildlife in her backyard.

Surviving are her husband, Charlie Clegg Sr. whom she married on October 3, 1992; one daughter, Teresa (Steve) Heslop of Lima, Ohio; one son, Lew (Colleen) Gautschi of New Martinsville, West Virginia; two sisters, Jean (Barry) Gaston of Sierra Vista, Arizona; Kay (Mike) Pierpoint of Middlebourne, West Virginia; one brother, Buddy Gray of Sistersville, West Virginia; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Sardis Church of Christ, 37266 7th Ave., Sardis, Ohio from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 where funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. with David Lively officiating. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Sardis Cemetery, Sardis, Ohio at a later date.
