Betty Jean Mahoney, 94, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Lewisville, Ohio on May 14, 1925 a daughter of the late Herman and Hazel Schultheiz Stimpert.
She was a homemaker and was a clerk at the former K-V Store, Woodsfield, Ohio. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Woodsfield, Ohio.
She loved baking, sewing, crocheting, and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mahoney; one son, John Mahoney; three brothers, William, Richard and Herman Stimpert Jr.; two sons-in-law, Danny Luyster and Bob Pierce.
Surviving are four daughters, Peggy Pierce of Salesville, Ohio, Deb Scott of Woodsfield, Ohio, Brenda (Rick) Patterson of Spring Hill, Florida, Kris (Charles) Delong of Woodsfield, Ohio; two sons, Pat Mahoney of the home, Neal (Lori) Mahoney of Woodsfield, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Abiding with the State of Ohio recommendations for social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, a private visitation will be held for family only at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.
Graveside services will be held at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
