Cecil R. Cline, 96, of Wingett Run, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Harmar Place, Marietta, Ohio.
He was born at Wingett Run, Ohio on March 12, 1928 a son of the late David T. and Alice Wallenfelsz Cline.
Cecil formerly worked as a driller in the oil field and was a retired press man for the Marietta Times, Marietta, Ohio. He was a member of the Church of Christ and also a member of the Masterton Lodge F. & A.M., Lebanon, Ohio.
He enjoyed farming, attending church services, going to events at the River’s Edge and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Rinard Cline on March 8, 1985; a sister, Luada Wesel and two brothers in infancy.
Surviving are one daughter, Ruth (Mike) Howell of Graysville, Ohio; a sister, Grace Oppe of Glenville, West Virginia; a granddaughter, Leia (Ricky) Bowersock; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Jacob Bowersock; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2024 where funeral and military services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2024 with John Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery, Wingett Run, Ohio.
Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
