Colin R. Johnson, 77, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born in Genesso, Illinois on April 29, 1942 a son of the late Clarence Richard Johnson and Marjorie Howarth Johnson.
Colin was a former insurance sales agent for Safe Auto Insurance, Woodsfield, Ohio; a member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio and honorable served his country as a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a missionary having traveled to Germany, Austria, and Canada.
He enjoyed reading his bible, classical music, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Kirkpatrick.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Roberts Johnson whom he married on December 23, 1974; one son, Charles Johnson and his fiancé Jessica Parsons of Woodsfield, Ohio; one sister, Mary Ann (Gary) Walters of Genesso, Illinois; one brother, Mike (Mary Ann) Johnson of Enid, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Lexie Johnson and her fiancé Jordan Sandford; Tyler Marsh; Nicholas Johnson, Maxxwell Johnson, Lydia Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Ramona and Rowan Sandford.
Friends will be received at the Woodsfield Church of Christ, 860 Lewisville Road, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 where military and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 with Scott McFarland and Keith Jones. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
