Dan J. Stoffel, 88, of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.
He was born near Harriettsville, Ohio on March 4, 1933 a son of the late Dan and Maud Day Stoffel.
He was a retired laborer for the former Conalco Corp. Hannibal, Ohio; a member of Trinity United Church of Christ near Lewisville, Ohio; a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War; a 50 year member of Stafford Lodge 300 F. & A.M., Stafford, Ohio; a former school board member; a former little league coach, scout leader, 4-H advisor, golfer, avid hunter, basketball player, softball pitcher and an honoree of the Dan Stoffel Golf Classic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Mike Stoffel and Harry Dean Stoffel; a sister, Eileen DePasco.
Surviving are his wife, Janet DeWitt Stoffel whom he married on September 30, 1956. One daughter Karen C. (Douglas) McGrath of Malta, Ohio; three sons, Michael Stoffel of Woodsfield, Ohio; David (Paula) Stoffel of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Greg (Jodi) Stoffel of Woodsfield, Ohio; one brother George Preston Stoffel of Canton, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, where military and funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Arbuckle officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville, Ohio.
Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
