Obituary

Daniel Steven Hughes, 62, of Bowerston, Ohio (formerly of Caldwell, Ohio) passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Twin City Hospital, Dennison, Ohio.

He was born at Marietta, Ohio on May 9, 1961, a son of the late Clair and Linda Dotson Hughes.

Daniel was a 1979 graduate of the Caldwell High School, Caldwell, Ohio and attended Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. He was a lifetime member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association and a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.

He was an avid Ohio State and Bengals football fan, enjoyed listening to 70’s music, and reading.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Wayne Hughes and Scott Anthony Hughes.

Surviving are his step-mother, Patricia Hughes of Caldwell, Ohio; two step-sisters, Mary Michel of Summerfield, Ohio and Regina Stitzlein of Ashland, Ohio; one step-brother, Buddy Locklear of Macksburg, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Eastern Cemetery, Summerfield, Ohio.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Brubach-Watters Funeral Home, Summerfield, Ohio.
