David A. Freitag

     David A. Freitag, 72, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in Grove City, Ohio.

     He was born at Canton, Ohio on November 26, 1953, a son of the late Irvin “Bus” and Blanche Leggett Freitag.

     Dave was a former laborer and handyman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam Era and was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     He enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, gardening and fishing.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharol “Sherry” Moore and a nephew, Todd Lynch.

     Surviving are a sister, Carol Six of Grove City, Ohio; two nieces, Kimberly Lynch, Sherry (C.J.) Andrews; three nephews, Mike (Cherri) Truax, Brian (Tiffany) Moore, Steve (Tracy) Truax; thirteen great nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Jim (Darla) Moore of Cambridge, Ohio.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2026.

     Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Middle Church Cemetery near Lewisville, Ohio.
