Delbert I. Smith

     Delbert I. Smith, 86, of Lewisville, Ohio (Sycamore Valley Community) passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Arcadia Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coolville, Ohio.

     He was born near Graysville, Ohio on April 18, 1935 a son of the late Bryan and Opal Coss Smith.

     Delbert was a retired custodian and school bus driver for the Switzerland of Ohio School District.  He was a member of the Stafford United Methodist Church, Stafford, Ohio; a former member of the Bethel Volunteer Fire Dept. and a former driver for the Bethel E. Squad, Marr, Ohio.

     He enjoyed farming, mowing his yard and helping with the Emmaus Walks.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Smith; two sisters, Mary Cline and Dorothy McKnight.

     Surviving are a grandson, Colton Renner of New Matamoras, Ohio.  His former wife, Sandy Smith of Belpre, Ohio; four nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 with Pastor Jim Porter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford, Ohio.
