Denver R. Piatt, 86, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Stellar Care Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born at New Matamoras, Ohio on February 17, 1939 a son of the late Charles Denver Piatt and Dora Vess Piatt.
He was a retired maintenance man for Wooster City Schools, Wooster, Ohio.
Denver enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, feeding his cattle and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Hart Piatt in 2015; three brothers, Denzil, Edwin “Eddie” and Gary Piatt; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Piatt and Marsha Piatt.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Rhonda) Piatt of Woodsfield, Ohio and David Piatt of Lodi, Ohio; one daughter, Evelyn I. Park of St. Petersburg, Florida; one brother, Ronald Piatt of Mantua, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kyle Piatt, Korey Piatt, Nick Piatt, Angie Munn and Austin Nixon; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026 with Pastor Terry Schmelzenbach officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville, Ohio.
