He was married to Carolyn Sue (Hedger) Ebert on March 1960 and recently celebrated their 65 years together.

They traveled across the United States in earlier years together on a Honda Goldwing where they both enjoyed taking in the beautiful parts of their travels.

Don enjoyed and had a passion for the woods and you could often find him there along with “Luke” his faithful beagle dog that hunted rabbits.

Don was a gun collector and was involved in local clubs in the area.

Don was an all-around expert in hunting and was a mentor to his son and grandsons on safety and respect for the land.

They learned from the BEST.

This brought him joy as well as you could also find a camera around his neck as he had a passion for capturing the nature that he surrounded himself in.

Don took an active role in the lives of his family which always brought joy and brought joy in return.

He loved Gospel Bluegrass and Country Music and would often find him on a Sunday tuning into Athens Ohio Bluegrass WOUB 91.3 FM.

Don and his wife Carolyn enjoyed all the fur babies over the years, and this truly brought to them a whole other experience of joy.

He leaves behind several dogs by the names of Buttons and Holly.  They will miss him so much and carry his love with them.

Donald (Doc) R. Ebert Served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 where he was part of the USPS postal delivery of mail by air.

He was a proud Veteran, and you could often find him attending local events supporting them.
