Donald R. “Rick” Howiler, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at his home.
He was born near Calais, Ohio on August 2, 1951 a son of the late William and Georgia Brown Howiler.
Don was a retired over the road truck driver and was a social member of the V.F.W. Post 2792, Barnesville, Ohio.
He enjoyed riding his Harley in his spare time and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Howiler; a daughter, Annie Howiler and a brother, Billy Howiler.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ann Leach Howiler whom he married on April 1, 1971; one son, Andie (Tessa) Howiler of Barnesville, Ohio; seven sisters, Jeannie Howiler of Seneca Lake, Ohio, Jackie (Butch) Lucas of Temperanceville, Ohio, Polly Jones of Shreveport, Louisiana, Kay Burkhart of Temperanceville, Ohio, Jeri Reed of Barnesville, Ohio, Cyndi (Mike) Hershberg of Calais, Ohio, Mindy (Steve) Minyo of Caldwell, Ohio; two brothers, Marlin (Evelena) Brown of Calais, Ohio, Danny Howiler of Caldwell, Ohio; five grandchildren, Zakary Howiler, Alex Lake, Samuel Savage, Piper Howiler, Ethan Howiler; one great-grandson, Corbyn Howiler; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 with Pastor Herb Alexander of the Grace Christian Church, Woodsfield, Ohio officiating.
Burial will be held at the Calais Cemetery, Calais, Ohio.
