Donna Marlene Mahoney

            Donna Marlene Mahoney, 85, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of the Ohio Valley, Wheeling, West Virginia.

            She was born near Woodsfield, Ohio on April 13, 1935 a daughter of the late Joseph and Oweda Jones Kinney.

            Marlene was a retired custodian for the Switzerland of Ohio School District Woodsfield, Ohio and an Avon representative for 43 years. She was also a member of the Graysville Church of Christ, Graysville, Ohio.

            Marlene enjoyed talking with people and helping others. She enjoyed spending time at the farm, going to church and taking care of her brother, Ronnie.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Pete” Mahoney on August 28, 1989; two sisters, Lorna Kuhn and Mabel Koehler: a brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Kinney who passed away the next day on May 15, 2020; a grandson-in-law, Chris Robinson.

            Surviving are her son, Timothy Mahoney and his companion Jan Cool of Woodsfield, Ohio; one step-son, Pete (Virginia) Mahoney Jr. of Canton, Ohio; one sister, Marie (Jerry) Rose of Woodsfield, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kristi (Mike) Ailiff, Jennifer Mahoney, Dawn Robinson; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Melissa Mahoney, and Scott Mahoney.

           Abiding with the State of Ohio recommendations for social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, a private visitation will be held for family only at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

            Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio with Sam Bartrug officiating.
