Doris J. Given, 86, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at her home.
She was born at Little Falls, W. Va. on July 30, 1935 a daughter of the late Harold Gordon Smith and Gypsy Jeffreys Smith.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the New Life Church, Woodsfield, Ohio. She was one of the founders of the Woodsfield E. Squad. She enjoyed reading, traveling, listening to Elvis music and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Given on July 19, 2017; a daughter, Leisa Copley and a sister, Martha McCauley.
Surviving are one son, Gordon Lee “Chuck” Given of Woodsfield, Ohio, one brother Harold (Shirley) Smith of Detroit, Michigan, two sisters, Dottie May of Morgantown, W. Va. and Kathy (Fred) Clark of Morgantown, W.Va., a son in law Charles (Janice) Copley of Bethesda, Ohio, four grandchildren, Stacey Copley of Columbus, Ohio, James (Crystal) Copley of Tracy, California, Nate (Kindra) Kidd of St. George, Virginia and Erin Given of Columbus, Ohio, one great granddaughter Kennedy Kidd of St. George, Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio on Friday November 19, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
