Dorothy Mae Whitacre

     Dorothy Mae Whitacre, 88, of Graysville, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.

     She was born at New Martinsville, West Virginia on July 17, 1937 a daughter of the late Charles and Lizzie Jones Ridgeway.

     Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Lynn Whitacre in 1967; a daughter, Cathy Ring; four brothers and a sister; two sons- in-law, Bill Voight and Tom Cochran.

     Surviving are three daughters, Shelia Voight of Graysville, Ohio, Lynette Cochran of New Matamoras, Ohio, Cindy Hendershot of Stonewood, West Virginia; one son, Carl F. (Kim) Whitacre of Graysville, Ohio; a son-in-law, Mitch Ring of St. Clairsville, Ohio; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

     As per Dorothy’s wishes, a private visitation will be held at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     Burial will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville, Ohio.
