Edward Ackerman Obituary

Edward H. Ackerman, 97, of Lewisville, Ohio died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at The Arbors in Woodsfield, Ohio.

He was born near Lewisville, Ohio (Monroefield) on December 13, 1922 a son of the late Benjamin P. Ackerman.

Edward was a 1940 graduate of Lewisville High School. He attended the Calais Church. He was a 78 year member of the Farm Bureau in Monroe County.

He was a farmer, mechanic and longtime member of the Carpenters union. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking. He liked reading the Bible, word searches and keeping his daily diary.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beula (Delong) Ackerman whom he married November 4, 1942, granddaughter, Krista and his three brothers, George, Walter and Lester Ackerman.

Surviving are his children, Jimmy (Carolyn) Ackerman of Danville, Mrs. Eric (Patricia) Dowler of Davisville, W.V., Junior (Sheila) Ackerman of Lewisville, Mrs. Roger (Phyllis) Claus of Lewisville, Phillip (Lisa) Ackerman of Massillon, Ben (Karen) Ackerman of Lewisville and caregiver Donna Pyles; seven grandchildren, Travis, Jason, Carey, Pam, Russell, Casey and Brittany; two step-grandchildren, Stacey and Missy; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Following Edward’s wishes there will be no visitation and graveside services will be held at the family’s convenience.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.
