Eleanor E. Leeper, 85, of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.
She was born near Sycamore Valley, Ohio on September 30, 1937, a daughter of the late Clyde and Wadna Hupp Yockey.
She was a former clerk for the Franklin Township Trustees and also a former school bus driver for the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District. Eleanor enjoyed living on the family farm, gardening, playing cards, being around her family, and was an avid Ohio State fan. She was a member of the Stafford United Methodist Church, Stafford, Ohio; a member of P.E.R.I.; Ohio Farm Bureau; Ohio Angus Association; National Cattleman’s Association; a former 4-H advisor; a member of the former Franklin Homemakers Club; and a member of the Skyvue Athletic Boosters.
She was also a 2-time state bowling champion with the Ohio State USBC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lowell I. Miracle and her second husband, Robert C. Leeper.
Surviving are one daughter, Gyl A. Miracle of Lewisville, Ohio; one son, Eric I. Miracle of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Logan (Derek) Norman and Nicholas Sims; three great-grandchildren, Radisson, Wyatt, and Eleanor Reese Norman.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023, with Rev. Stephen Sparling officiating. Burial will follow in the Sutherland Cemetery near Lewisville, Ohio.
