Erica Sims

Erica Sims, 33, of Oak Island, North Carolina, formerly of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 26, 1989, daughter of Robert and Karen (Ludwig) Morris of Oak Island, Rusty Sims of Pickerington, Ohio, and Maria (Block Sims) Mauger of Columbus, Ohio. 

Erica was a 2007 graduate of Olentangy High School.  She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter Jadeyn. They enjoyed shelling and playing on the beach, playing at the park, and having dance parties. Erica loved music and was a huge fan of the Buckeyes and the Browns.

Erica was preceded in death by her brother Ridge Morris; uncles Glenn and Bruce Ludwig; cousins Dalton and Daniel Ludwig; grandparents Philip Sr. and Shirley Ludwig and Jerry Sims, all of Woodsfield, Ohio;  Joe and Debbie Block of Miltonsburg, Ohio; and Edward Sr and Irene Morris of Parma, Ohio. 

Surviving in addition to her parents are her daughter, Jadeyn Jackson, age 5, of Oak Island; two brothers Tyler and Zach Sims of Columbus; sister Rebecca Ann (Vincent) Fares and nieces Arabella and Lilianna Fares of Plain City; grandmother Maryann Sims of Woodsfield; great aunt Bonnie Blakeway of Canton; four aunts, Ann (Ray) Coultrip of Colorado Springs, Judy Smithers of Port Clinton, Cheryl Ludwig of Woodsfield, and Carolyn Ludwig of Shadyside; seven uncles, Richard (Suzanne) Sims of Ft Myers, Dan (Darlene) Sims of Woodsfield, Dennis (Donna) Morris of Strongsville, Edward Jr. (Kathy) Morris of Parma, Brian (Diane) Ludwig and Philip (Pamela) Ludwig of Woodsfield, and Brent Ludwig (Teresa Fleeman) of Lower Salem, as well as many cousins. 

Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, West, Woodsfield, Ohio on Friday, June 10th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11th. Burial will follow in the Moffat Cemetery, near Woodsfield, Ohio.
