Forrest (Frostie) Frank Obituary

Forrest (Frostie) Osal Frank, 88, of Miltonsburg, OH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Frostie was born at the Frank "old home place" on April 2, 1936, the eldest son of the late Osal Denver and Ethel Lucille Kinney-Frank.

Frostie started working early with jobs at the Christman turkey farm and as a projector operator at the Monroe Theatre.  After graduation from Lewisville High School in 1955, Frostie moved to Painesville, Ohio, where he completed an electrical apprenticeship at TRW.  He returned to Monroe County and worked at Conalco as a foreman of an electrical group, retiring 30 years later.  He bought his farm in 1962 on the edge of Miltonsburg, where he raised beef cattle.  He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewisville, OH.  Frostie was always busy in the community doing maintenance for Trinity; electrical and trenching jobs, researching genealogy extensively; and acting as president and maintenance facilitator for the Monroe County Health Planning Council, all while finding time to hunt, fish, and raise a family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Rachel Reich, whom he married on June 8, 1957; one brother, John; and a special uncle, Forrest (Wimp) Kinney, his namesake.

He is survived by his wife Karen Marston Vaught Frank, whom he married on December 16, 2001; sons Forrest V. (Becky) Frank of Findlay and Matthew D.(Paula) Frank of Hilliard; daughter Aimee D. (Donald) Bartenschlag of Zanesville; step-son Ashley U. Vaught of Philadelphia, PA; step-daughter Jessica M. (Juan) Aviles of Orlando, FL; a sister Rosie Agee of Georgia; brothers James (Dorothy) Frank of Woodsfield; Gene (Judy) Frank of Lewisville; and Oscar Edward (Rose) Frank of Lewisville.
