Francis J. “Fritz” Schumacher, 84, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born at Woodsfield, Ohio on August 14, 1936 a son of the late Louis and Stella Ackerman Schumacher.
He was a 1954 graduate of Woodsfield High School, Woodsfield, Ohio. He was a retired employee of the former Conalco Corporation, Hannibal, Ohio with 35 years of service. Fritz was also a member of the Army Reserve and a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio where he served as a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5009.
Fritz had a passionate love for his family, golfing, Keno and anything pastry to dip in his coffee. He loved going to the beach and putting his feet in the ocean. He also loved racing his horse “Barren Bob” with his brother Art. He was such an amazing husband, father, and grandpa. He was the best dad, softball coach, golf partner and friend. Fritz was also so caring, loving and faithful.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Louis “Jr” Schumacher and a sister, Margaret Bride.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Edythe (Templeton) Schumacher whom he married on April 19, 1975; two daughters, Cindy (Matthew) Camilletti of North Canton, Ohio, Jennifer (Jason) Winkler of Woodsfield, Ohio; four grandchildren, Megan, Anthony, Justin and Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio with Father David L. Gaydosik as the celebrant, where social distancing and facial coverings are encouraged.
Interment will follow in the St. Sylvester Catholic Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
