Gary E. Piatt

Gary E. Piatt, 77, of Graysville, Ohio passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.

He was born near Graysville, Ohio on January 21, 1945 a son of the late Charles and Dora Vess Piatt.

He was a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation, Hannibal, Ohio and was U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Cline Piatt on September 9, 2017; two brothers, Denzil and Eddie Piatt and a step-son, Bruce Marshall.

Surviving are his two daughters, Beverly (Gary) Armstrong of Sycamore Valley, Ohio, Melissa (Robert) Lanchman of Millersburg, Ohio; two sons, Jeff (Carol) Marshall of Sycamore Valley, Ohio, Doug (Lori Roser) Piatt of Marietta, Ohio; two brothers, Denver Piatt of Woodsfield, Ohio, Ronald Piatt of Ravenna, Ohio; seven grandchildren,Eric (Emma) Marshall, Tiffany Howard, Whitney Marshall, Hannah Piatt, Alyxandria Morris, Amber (Rusty) West, Nicole (Brian) Hesson; eight great-grandchildren, Halle Jo Simmons, Emersyn Howard, Lainie Russ, Casey Russ, Shelby Hesson,Sophia,Cecelia and Isabella Marshall several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, where funeral and military services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022 with Pastor Jim Porter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville, Ohio.
