Gary Plavchak, 70, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away peacefully over Super Bowl weekend (most likely of a broken heart because the Steelers were once again not in the Super Bowl).
Born August 3, 1955 in Clairton, Pennsylvania to George and Maryann Plavchak.
Gary grew up helping his dad with the family dry cleaning business and running the hills in Jefferson. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. After the Marines, he met Denise and they went on to raise three children; Melissa, Eric and Craig. When Gary wasn’t delivering for Entenmann’s Bakery, you could find him watching his kids sporting events, cheering/screaming in the stands. After retiring, Gary enjoyed hunting, horticulture, watching the Steelers, sending hilarious memes to his kids, watching the deer in his yard and spending time with his dogs, Sheba, Bentley, Maxwell and Maxine.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents George and Maryann Plavchak. He is now chilling with Sheba, Bentley and Maxwell.
He is survived by his children Melissa (Chris), Eric and Craig (Liesse); his grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Hunter, Benny, Georgie, Colette, Mackenzie and Jaxson; siblings, Greg (Diane), Geof (Diane), Georgie Ann (Mike); many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately. If you would like to remember Gary, please donate to your local animal shelter in his name.
Watters Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family during this time of loss.
