Gerald Dyton “Jerry” Fankhauser, 77, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the WVU Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born at New Martinsville, West Virginia on September 21, 1946 a son of the late Kline and Clarabell Paden Fankhauser.
He was a retired electrical engineer for Murray Energy. He was a 50 year plus member of Monroe Lodge #189, F. & A.M; a H.A.M. Radio Operator; had a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his ultralite and Cessna airplane. Jerry also loved history, planes, H.A.M radios and animals.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Debbie Gallaher Fankhauser; two daughters, Heather (Josh) Taylor of Woodsfield, Ohio, Erin (Ryan Boord) Fankhauser of Wheeling, West Virginia; one son, Daniel (Nikki) Fankhauser of Jacobsburg, Ohio; two sisters, Jean Clift of Woodsfield, Ohio, Penny Hannahs of New Concord, Ohio; his children by choice Angela Nichols and Joey and Tori Littleton and their daughter, Ariel; his cherished dogs, Ivy, Lilly and Shay. three grandchildren, Ella, Eli and Maverick.
There will be no visitation or service.
As per Jerry’s wishes, he will be cremated.
