Gladys M. Maury

     Gladys Marie Maury, 82 of Cameron, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 30th, 2019 at Arbors of Woodsfield. 

     She was born May 16, 1937, the daughter of George and Arminda (Moore) Vaness.  Gladys had a big heart and was always a caregiver for sick family members.  She loved animals, vegetable and flower gardening, and cooking.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored.  Gladys attended The Church of Christ.

      In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son Dale Edward Maury, brothers Emerson Vaness and Paul Vaness; sisters Maggie Ady, Hazel Martin, Stella Ady, Zelda Ruckman, Martha Holiday, and Betty Chrostowski.

      Left to cherish her memory is a son Roy L. Maury of Cameron; two daughters, Susan (Tomas) Vance of Columbus, Ohio and Donna (Marvin) Ward of Malaga, Ohio; five grandchildren Nicole Vance, Bryan Vance, Dr. Nathan Ward and his wife Katie, Eric Ward, and Cody Ward; brothers Ray Vaness and Ralph (Sue) Vaness, both of Rittman, Ohio, and Boyd (Shirley) Vaness of Beallsville, Ohio; a sister, Sylvia (Frank) Hoke, of Beallsville, Ohio.  She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

     Friends and family will be received at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020 with Keith Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cameron Cemetery, Cameron, Ohio.
