James "Jim" Conger, 70, a dedicated husband, a hardworking handyman, and a retired laborer for the Village of Woodsfield, passed away on March 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
Born on July 21, 1953, a son of the late James and Becky Parks Conger, Jim was a lifelong resident of Woodsfield, Ohio, where he built a reputation as a dependable and kind-hearted individual, always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Annabelle Huff and brother Robert Conger. He is survived by his beloved wife, Geanie Taylor Conger, with whom he shared many years of happiness. He is also survived by his stepchildren, David Cline and Deanne Cline, a step-granddaughter, Sofia Stout, who held a special place in his heart. In addition to his brothers John, Henry, Ike, David, and Everett Conger, he is also survived by his mother-in-law Sonja Taylor, sister-in-law Jenny (Roger) Abbott, brother-in-law Tom Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Jim's wishes, he will be cremated with a private inurnment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield, Ohio.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.
