Jerry L. Rose

     Jerry L. Rose, 83, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.

     He was born near Graysville, Ohio on January 24, 1938 a son of the late Fred Rose and Gladys Gardner Crum.

     Jerry was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service with 30 years of service and was also a retired deputy sheriff for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Woodsfield Ohio with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio and a former member of the Woodsfield Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years.

     He enjoyed collecting coins and listening to gospel and country music.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Woodrow Crum; a sister, Nila Hentsch; a grandson, Eric Rose and a nephew, Philip Palmer.

     Surviving are his wife, Marie Kinney Rose whom he married on January 26, 1957; three sons, Brian (Carla) Rose of Woodsfield, Ohio, Terry (Juanita) Rose of Woodsfield, Ohio, Kevin (Beth) Rose of Graysville, Ohio; two sisters, Pat (George) Palmer of Waverly, Tennessee, Ruth Gates of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, Martin Crum of Springfield, Tennessee, Alan Rose of California; eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio, Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

     Friends will then be received at the Woodsfield Church of Christ, 860 Lewisville Road, Woodsfield, Ohio, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 with Sam Bartrug officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Graysville Church of Christ Cemetery, Graysville, Ohio.
