Johnathan P. Wood

     Johnathan P. Wood, 26, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Ohio Health Southeastern Medical Center, Cambridge, Ohio following injuries in an auto accident.

     He was born at Zanesville, Ohio on February 14, 1997 a son of Andrew and Diana Hill Wood who survive of Quaker City, Ohio.

     Johnathan was a laborer at Atkor in Byesville, Ohio and was a graduate of Shenandoah High School with a 4 year letter in wrestling. He was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Temperanceville, Ohio and a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Batesville, Ohio.

     He enjoyed spending time with his wife and daughter going on new adventures. He loved hunting, fishing with father, putting up hay, playing pool, barbequing chickens and making noodles. Johnathan loved to play pool with his Pap. He was constantly lighting up any room he walked into with his smile and goofiness. He truly was a family man. He loved playing with his nieces and nephews. Johnathan was an amazing husband, father, son and brother. He will be forever in our hearts.

     Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife Haley and daughter Sophia Jones; two sisters, Erica (Troy) Hittle of Zanesville, Ohio, Andrea Wood and her companion Mason Mercer of Summerfield, Ohio; two brothers, Ian (Suzanna) Wood of Georgia, Ryan Wood of Quaker City, Ohio; paternal grandfather, Drexell Wood of New Martinsville, West Virginia; maternal grandmother, Donna Hill of Quaker City. Ohio; father and mother-in-law Joe and Kimberly Jones of Barnesville, Ohio and his wife’s grandparents, Todd and Debbie Lynn of Barnesville, Ohio.

     A private family visitation will be held at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     At the request of Johnathan, cremation will take place with inurnment at the convenience of the family.
