Joseph Locklear Jr., 86, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born in Red Springs, North Carolina on June 10, 1933 a son of the late Joseph Utley Locklear and Stella Locklear.
Joe was a retired crane operator for the Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg, Ohio.
He enjoyed collecting old cars and spending time with his wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Curley, Henry, Winford, and Harold Locklear.
Surviving are his wife, Ona Mae “Jackie” Adams Locklear; one step-daughter, Henrietta Dittmer of Washington; two step-sons, Thomas Balthis of Woodsfield, Ohio, Edward Balthis of Uniontown, Ohio; one sister, Norris Cummings of Pembroke, North Carolina; two brothers, Leonard Locklear of Pembroke, North Carolina, Al Locklear of Shannon, North Carolina; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019 with Pastor Herb Alexander of the Grace Christian Church, Woodsfield, Ohio officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
