Kay Lynn Martin Davis

     Kay Lynn Martin Davis, 77, of Dennison, Ohio (formerly of Woodsfield and Belpre, Ohio) passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Community Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia, Ohio.

     She was born at Marietta, Ohio on March 23, 1947 a daughter of the late Charles W. and Ruby Luburgh Martin.

     Kay grew up in Woodsfield, Ohio but lived many years in Clarington, Ohio where she raised her daughters. She was most recently a resident of Dennison, Ohio where she moved to be close to her family.

     She was a former secretary of the Switzerland of Ohio School District for many years working at Clarington Elementary, Powhatan Elementary and Swiss Hills Vocational School. Kay was also a member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     Kay had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her plants. She enjoyed knitting and in earlier days boating, camping and going to the beach.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Davis in 2018; former husband, Jeffrey Engle; a brother, James Martin and a grandson, Nathan Norman.

     She will be deeply missed by daughters and sons –in-law, Sherri (McDougal) and Michael Norman of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Kristi (McDougal) and Mitchell Simmons of Centrevile, Virginia and step-daughter, Amber (Davis) and David Cravens of Clermont, Florida. She is the grandmother to Ashley (Kory) Ward, Carli (Cameron) Casimir, Stephanie Norman, Anthony Norman, Eric (Brady) Simmons, Evan Simmons and John Simmons and a step-grandson, Andrew Davis. She was blessed with two great granddaughters, Clara Casimir and Kollins Ward as well as great-grandson, Baby Casimir due in December; two brothers, David (Jeanie) Martin and Don Martin; a sister, Barbara (James) Shaw.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024 until time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m. with Sam Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
