Larry L. Emery, 85, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born near Woodsfield, Ohio on June 11, 1940 a son of the late Thomas R. and Mildred Dressler Emery.
Larry was a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation, Hannibal, Ohio and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Woodsfield, Ohio and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 5303, Woodsfield, Ohio.
He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family and dogs, doing mission work, he enjoyed listening to gospel music and doing notary work for the public.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris King; three brothers, Jim, John and Orlan Emery and a niece, Karley Sue Williams.
Surviving are his loving wife, Susan Hammonds Emery whom he married on June 10, 1988; one daughter, Jeannie (Paul) Shook of Tuppers Plains, Ohio; one son, Chadwick Emery of Woodsfield, Ohio; one step-daughter, Dawn (Andrew) Saboley of Waverly, Ohio; two stepsons, Douglas (Lisa) Anderson of California, Troy (Sarah) Anderson of New Albany, Ohio; two sisters, Eldra Smalley of Ashland, Ohio, Sue (Jim) Williams of Woodsfield, Ohio; one brother, Raymond (Julie) Emery of Ashland, Ohio; several grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026 where military and funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Fred Ricer officiating.
Following services a cremation will take place with inurnment at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio at a later date.
