Laura E. Ayers

     Laura E. Ayers, 89, of Marietta, Ohio (formerly of Sycamore Valley, Ohio) passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Harmar Place, Marietta, Ohio.

     She was born near Graysville, Ohio on June 1, 1933 a daughter of the late Roscoe and Daisy (Anderson) Weckbacher.

     Laura was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ near Graysville, Ohio and was also known for her chocolate chip cookies.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Ayers; one daughter, Vickie Conger and one son, John Ayers; three brothers, Alton, Maynard and Mark Weckbacher.

     Surviving are one daughter, Donna (Jeff) Winland of Sycamore Valley, Ohio; one son, Tracey (Denise) Ayers of Fleming, Ohio; two brothers, Wilbert Weckbacher of Lowell, Ohio and Dean (Sharon) Weckbacher of Sycamore Valley, Ohio; one daughter in law,  Dee Ayers of Lowell, Ohio; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022.

     Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville, Ohio.
