Lillian L. "Lucy" Barkes

Lillian L. “Lucy” Barkes, 82, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Altercare Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, Ohio.

She was born at New Martinsville, West Virginia on April 18, 1940 a daughter of the late Clarence and Emma Leasure Beegle.

Lillian was a former nurse’s aide at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, Ohio; a former employee of the State Hospital, Massillon, Ohio and Perry Rubber in Massillon, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Onward Warren Barkes on February 27, 2019 and an infant son, Scott Barkes.

Surviving are two daughters, Chris (Melvyn) Feldner of Carlisle, Ohio, Kathy (David) Bridgeman of Hannibal, Ohio; one son, Jim (Lon) Barkes of Massillon, Ohio; several brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 with funeral services at 4:00 p.m. with Jimmie Moore officiating.

Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Summerfield, Ohio.
