Lois M. Bowman, 80, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.
She was born in Wadsworth, Ohio on February 8, 1938 a daughter of the late Earl and Arlene Hall Shelly.
Lois was a retired assistant vice president at the Citizens National Bank, Woodsfield, Ohio. She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio where she enjoyed participating in the musical outreach program visiting local nursing homes. She enjoyed volunteering at S.O.M.A. in Woodsfield, Ohio and was a performing member of the Statewide Buckeye Bowers (Bowed Psaltery Group). She also enjoyed playing the piano reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching her backyard birds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Stickler; two brothers, Leonard Shelly and Earl Shelly Jr.
Surviving are her husband, Donald Bowman whom she married on July 17, 1977; one daughter, Janice (Jim) Hammond of Athens, Alabama; two step-sons, David Lee (Maureen) Bowman of Allen, Texas, Dwight (Connie) Bowman of Westerville, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodfield, Ohio from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019.
Friends will then be received at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 303 Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 with Pastor Frank Haines officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
