Mardis Eugene Moore

     Mardis Eugene Moore, 77, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the WVU Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.

     He was born at Barnesville, Ohio on September 26, 1945, a son of the late Judson and Francis Powell Moore.

     Eugene was a retired millwright at the former Conalco Corp., Hannibal, Ohio. He was also a former Malaga Township Trustee with 35 years as a trustee.

     He enjoyed farming, his dog “Herbie” and most especially spending time with his grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melody Marshall Moore; a daughter, Jamie Gehrig; two infant children, Matthew and Elizabeth Moore and a brother, Robert Moore.

     Surviving are one son, Josh (Bethany) Moore of Bethesda, Ohio; one sister, Mary Bucey of Massillon, Ohio; one brother, Michael (Barb) Moore of Beallsville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Halle, Gracie, Daleyn Gehrig, Addyson and Braydon Moore.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023.

     Private graveside services will be held Monday, February 20, 2023, for the family only at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
