Marjorie J. Schumacher, 94, of Woodsfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 28, 1924 a daughter of the late Russell and Winifred Beardmore McDonald.
Marjorie was a former employee of the former Needle Nook in Woodsfield, Ohio many years ago and retired as a cook at the Woodsfield Elementary School, Woodsfield, Ohio. She was a member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Switzerland of Ohio Country Club; a Pittsburgh Steelers fan; an avid bridge player; and was a fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Schumacher on October 12, 1980.
Surviving are one son, Mark (Rosamaria) Schumacher of Bridgeport, West Virginia; three daughters, Kathy (Steve) Bishop of Woodsfield, Ohio, Karen (Kirk) Lafferre of Lewisville, Ohio, Sue (Alan) Dobrzeniecki of York, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Chris and Rachael Schumacher, Brad (Jodi) Bishop, Jason (Carrie) Bishop, Dena (Troy) Cline, Keith and Karrie Lafferre, Tiffany and Amanda Dobrzeniecki; and twelve great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 where vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. David Gaydosik as the celebrant.
Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Sylvester Catholic Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio at a later date.
