Morris F. Morrison, 86, Woodsfield, Ohio died Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born March 5, 1935, in Sycamore Valley, Ohio to Ray and Ruby Morrison.
Morris formerly owned and operated the Morrison General Store and Post Office in Sycamore Valley Ohio. Morris was instantly loved by all who knew him, he was a kind and gentle soul who loved and lived life to its fullness. After losing his ability to speak effectively years ago he would often be seen dancing with both adults and with children. He was a loyal and avid fan of Skyvue and Monroe Central basketball, rarely missing a game.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lee Orians and a brother Robert Lewis Morrison.
Morris was also preceded in death by his wife, Oleta Jane Bates Morrison, who died May 1, 2007.
He is survived by a daughter, Misty Dawn Morrison of Woodsfield, Ohio; a grandson James Michael Potts of Woodsfield, Ohio; a sister, Serena Ann Morrison of Columbus, Ohio; 6 nephews and 2 nieces.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6 at Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield with services following immediately thereafter. Burial will be in Creighton Ridge Cemetery at an undetermined later date.
