Nick A. Masciarelli, 80, of Bellaire, Ohio (formerly of Lewisville, Ohio) passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 in Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born in Lewisville, Ohio on August 19, 1938 a son of the late Nicodemus Roosevelt Masciarelli and Edna Kuhn Masciarelli.
He was owner/operator of Demolition Man Demolition Company, Bellaire, Ohio; the former owner of Vault Used Cars, Bellaire, Ohio; former owner of Auto Body Specialist in St. Clairsville, Ohio; and former owner of the St. Clairsville Speedway, Morristown, Ohio. Nick was also a member of the Ohio National Guard and a member of the Sons of Italy #725, Bellaire, Ohio. He was a former racecar driver and was inducted into the Pittsburgh International Dragway in Cecil, Pennsylvania. His hobbies included auto racing and attending car shows.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Masciarelli and two sisters, Julie Masciarelli and Joan Bishop.
Surviving are one son, Anthony Masciarelli of Hollywood, Florida; a godson, Jon Barton of Bellaire, Ohio; four sisters, Esther (Jim) Ristaneo of Middletown, Ohio, Diane Minosky of Caldwell, Ohio, Judy Biedenbach of Lewisville, Ohio, Mary Davis of Caldwell, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas Masciarelli of Caldwell, Ohio, Bill (Patty) Masciarelli of Summerfield, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 with funeral services at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. David Gaydosik officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Chapel Hill Cemetery near Lewisville, Ohio.
