Norma Jane Hale, 88, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born in Moundsville, West Virginia on December 18, 1931 a daughter of the late Dewey and Lenna Wellman Lough.
She was a retired nurse and was a Catholic by faith. She enjoyed impersonating the actress Phyllis Diller and enjoyed making people laugh. Years ago she participated in many community comedy shows. She was a former Mary Kay consultant, former artist, talented singer and pianist. Norma enjoyed her flower beds and feeding the birds. She always emphasized to her family to be generous, kind and compassionate to others. She also prayed for her family on a daily basis and loved them very much.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd J. Hale; a brother, Otis G. Lough; four sisters, Shirley Lough, Maxine Tilton, Imogene Smith and Marjorie Blatt.
Surviving are four daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Alkire of Salem, Ohio, Virginia Crowell of Woodsfield, Ohio, Joan (Donald) Pack of Malaga, Ohio, Judy L. Watts Wallace and her wife Debby of Gahanna, Ohio; nine sons, Mark (Laura) Wallace of Ponder, Texas, Louis (Susan) Wallace of Utah, Stephen Wallace of Victoria, Texas, David Wallace of Sugarcreek, Ohio, Phillip (Katy) Wallace of Akron, Ohio, Daren (Beth) Wallace of Woodsfield, Ohio, Martin (Kim) Wallace of Marietta, Ohio, Nathan (Connie) Wallace of Townville, South Carolina, Lance (Nicole) Wallace of San Angelo, Texas; three step-sons, Randall (Joni) Hale of Washington, Daniel (Keri) Hale of Phoenix, Arizona, Christopher Hale of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters, Trilba Snyder of Cambridge, Ohio, Myrna Allar of Beallsville, Ohio, Francis Krabill of Alliance, Ohio 35 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and several step-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 with Pastor Joe Hise officiating.
Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Cemetery, Jerusalem, Ohio.
