Richard J. "Jake" Jones

     Richard J. “Jake” Jones, 73, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio.

     He was born in Woodsfield, Ohio on May 18, 1947 a son of the late William Edward and Freda Viola McCammon Jones.

     He was a retired laborer for the former Dyneer Steel in Canton, Ohio.

     He enjoyed helping others and riding his motorcycle with his friends.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life Sue Hines; a sister Rozetta (Vernon) Kinney; a brother, John Jones; three step-brothers, Bob, Chuck and Bernard Jones; two sisters-in-law, Doris Jones and Karen Jones; one brother-in-law, William “Doc” Kahrig.

     Surviving are three daughters, Jody (Kirby) Smith of Sardis, Ohio, Stacy (Kelly) Pickenpaugh of Woodsfield, Ohio, Tiffany Jones of Cadiz, Ohio; two sons, Jay Jones of Massillon, Ohio, Richard Michael Jones of Canton, Ohio; three sisters, Linda (Bud) Smith of Woodsfield, Ohio, Lois (Marvin) Kirkbride of Woodsfield, Ohio, Kathy Kahrig of Lewisville, Ohio; three brothers, Jim Jones of Jerusalem, Ohio, Jerry Jones of Woodsfield, Ohio, Joe (Kim) Jones of Barnesville, Ohio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his dog, Dexter.
     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 Woodsfield, Ohio from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 where social distancing will be observed and face coverings are encouraged.

     Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.

     Memorial contributions may be made to Watters Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.
