Robert Dale “Bob” Ault, 83, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born in Cameron, Ohio on March 1, 1937 a son of the late Floyd and Lucinda Stewart Ault.
Bob was a 1955 graduate of Woodsfield High School, Woodsfield, Ohio and was a retired maintenance worker with 23 years of employment at the Rolling Hills Local School. He was a member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio and formerly attended the Stop Nine Church of Christ, Byesville, Ohio. He was a charter member of the Church of Christ for Christian Scouting and was a Scout Leader since 1963 for Scout Troop #542. Overall he served 55 years in Scouting having received many prestigious awards.
Bob enjoyed being around other people and was always willing to help out others. He loved his blood children, stepchildren, honorary children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with an enormous passion, encouraging each to fulfill their potential using their God given gifts and talents. He also enjoyed playing euchre, bible study and was considered to be the honorary mayor of the Arbors of Woodsfield, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Gillogly Ault in June 2004 and a brother, Stephen Daniel Ault.
Surviving are one daughter Marla Jean Miller of Ruskin, Florida; two sons, Brad (Missy) Ault of Mena, Arkansas, Douglas (Denise) Ault of Anchorage, Alaska; two step-sons, Charles Clifton and David Clifton, both of Cambridge, Ohio; two step-daughters, Debra Price of Apache Junction, Arizona, Barbara “Bunny” Whittle of Claysville, Ohio; two sisters, Doris Lude of Woodsfield, Ohio, Betty (Jim) Mercer of Jerusalem, Ohio; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2020 where social distancing will be observed and face masks are encouraged in accordance with the State of Ohio Covid-19 regulations.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Guernsey County Memory Gardens, Cambridge, Ohio with Mark Beras officiating.
