Rose Marie Altieri Miracle, 74, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Clarington, Ohio passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.
She was born in Elkins, W. Va. on March 14, 1947 a daughter of the late Julius and Josephine Altieri.
Rose was a graduate of Fairmont State College with graduate work at WVU and Ohio University. She was a former teacher for 8 years at Beallsville High School and taught 27 years at the Swiss Hills Career Center. She put her teaching on view each day with an open to the public school restaurant. Only one of five schools in Ohio with that program. She and her students were famous for their holiday feasts served at the school and for her expert ability to serve large banquets at the school with five or fewer students. She was a surrogate mother to many of her students. She was recognized by the state legislature as outstanding teacher in 2004.
She was a Catholic by faith and was a past member of St. Sylvester School Board and personally a strong Catholic. She was also a long time treasurer of the Switzerland of Ohio Education Association.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tug Everett.
Surviving are her husband Mark A. Miracle whom she married on July 11, 2006. Two sons Trevor Lupi of Columbus; Ryan Lupi and his companion, Carissa of Westerville, Ohio; one sister Pat Everett of Boyton Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, Sophia Marie Lupi; Adeline Lupi; Fen Lupi.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M .with Vigil services at 7:30 P.M. Thursday May 27, 2021 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 28, 2021 with Father Tim Davison officiating.
Interment will follow in the Harter Cemetery, Hannibal, Ohio.
